I joined SaltyWaterArt's landscape class tonight after missing two weeks; this month's theme is waterfalls. It was nice to be back.
The reference photo was complex, beautiful. And every student's interpretation was different ... and very good; I coveted several.
Ronna smartly had us do two smaller studies before starting the "painting."
I need to do more studies-- a great way to relax and try color mixes.

The studies really got you in the mood because that finished piece is so lovely - and the colors! They really pop and make one think of autumn and all the falling leaves. Beautiful job. Hope you had a good 2 weeks away and it wasn’t all working.
Thank you, Rhonda. I really enjoyed the studies ... and that's how I want to paint when I start painting plein air again this year: when I'm out I always get fearful/timid (week paintings) or tighten up; so many expectations! I have to try to hold on to that "study" mindset so I can paint the way I want to!
I did have a nice week visiting my brother and friends in FL ... This past week at home trying to get back in the swing!
