From one of my last life drawing classes, several years ago.
I've just found out the Ocean City art league offers life drawing the first and third Thursday of the month. Tonight they're have a free session to bring in new people. I'm thinking of going--1 hour to decide!
It's not a class, just a monitored session and I'm debating if I have the courage to attend on my own ... But I've been seeing so much lovely figure drawing and painting on other bloggers' sites that I may be tempted enough to overcome my fear.

Go, go, go...more opportunity for colors, shapes, negative space and just plain painting time! Hope you went and had fun...
Go Laura, I have been thinking of taking a class in that as well. I agree there are so many fine life drawings on blog sites. I know what you mean about getting up the courage.
Go for it Laura!
Model sessions are so hard to come by, and after seeing the recent figure paintings on Susan Cornelis's blog you should jump at the chance.
Good luck but I don't think you'll need it...you are to accomplished as a painter to have any doubts.
I hope you went. With your skills I can't wait to see a post.
I hope you went, Laura. You're as ready as you'll ever be... This is a wonderful painting, so natural and un-forced. I'm terribly intimidated by the figure, especially when I can't hide it in a black coat or colorful dress, so I sympathize with your hesitation, but if you have the chance to do it, it should be a great learning experience.
Hi Laura,
I hope you go. This is a great painting. I like the contrast between
the raw nudity of the model, and the delicate pattern on the cloth.

Please do attend. There's such a wonderful, artsy atmosphere when you're in a figure drawing class. Plan to learn and grow. Let us know how it goes. And I really like this painting.
Oh, wow--I hope you go. I'll look forward to whatever you post. This is great. I was just looking at a Charles Reid figure painting book. Lovely, Laura!
Yes I hope you went too, its a great thing to expriment new styles and experiences in painting. something we don't have in egypt now! life drawing has been banned in art universities in the 80's.
Although we had in egypt, life drawing starting the 20's, anyway I wish I had this chance!!!
I've been meaning to go to our local weekly life-drawing sessions too - have been before and loved it, but somehow the Thursdays have been passing me by. I'll go if you go! ;-) This is a lovely study - no need to be nervous.
When I saw a life figure in your thumbnail I had to come spur you on. I've always loved how you paint people in your work, and as subject, you do a superb job.
Nothing to fear at all and so much to learn!!! I hope you went :)
