I had hot press paper out for the amaryllis and thought I'd try these cardinals, reference photos for a class I'll be taking wit Nora MacPhail in a couple of days.
It's been a long time since I used HP; I used to prefer it for flower painting.
I forgot how much you can push the paint around on it; lifting is also easier.

These are lovely, the hot colours are a theme for you at the moment. I really enjoy seeing your birds they are always so good and it is nice to see species that I can't here. I would love to see a cardinal in real life. I miss seeing Rhonda's birds too, I wonder how she is. Best wishes.
Ha, yes, I am dipping into the reds a lot! I didn't realize you don't have cardinals in the UK. If you're ever in NJ, I'll take you birding!
