cumberland county house

                               7x10

A sketchbook page.
Painted from a photo I took somewhere in Cumberland County in south Jersey.
It's fun to explore CC, parts of which are on the Maurice River: there's natural beauty and a lot of history.
On this day we saw, among others, an AME church dating to the 1790s that was a stop on the Underground RR.

Another sketchbook page. Arya and Melo.

I love returning to sketchbooks to see what I’ve done and am always surprised because, when I paint or draw something I think, “Well, that’s okay but not great” and when I return I see that what I did was pretty good! And they are great inspiration for new paintings - just sketches or even doodles can take you places later you didn’t think about. I should carry my sketch book more often - but I don’t!

Beautiful painting and drawing. Our school house in Nova Scotia is in
Cumberland county. This type of house is classic there.

Love your work!

XOXOXOXOXO Barbara
