There was an artist in Cape May, Alice Steer Wilson, who was known for her watercolors of the Victorian buildings and sycamore-lined streets. I was always partial to her interiors and still lifes, especially those with cyclamen; she really painted the leaves beautifully. Because of her I nearly always have a cyclamen, or two, and occasionally have a go at them.
I started with this one, and wish I hadn't started adding the background ...
and this is as far as I've gotten.

The way you merge shapes and let the colors blend within them is lovely(I keep trying to achieve more merged shapes and values, but not with much success). I liked that too about the flowering tree in the Cape May start too. Nothing wrong with ANY of these starts, I think you will just have to take a deep breath and keep going! I hope if/when you finish the Cape May and the Hooked Up paintings you will post those again.
I always look forward to having them too! You have captured beautifully the delicate characteristics of the flower and their unusual spotted leaves.

Beautiful. I love how lyrical you make them look, and they are a bit like birds in flight. My mother was a major fan.

They are beautiful. I really like the painted background because it shows up the shapes made by the crossing stems. Gorgeous colours too. x
