jan. virtual paint out: corsica

(5x7)
The Virtual Paint Out site for January was Corsica, and I spent a lot of time searching Google Street View, finding beautiful scenes, but not leaving myself enough time to paint them before the end of the month.

(5x7)

The location for February is San Francisco and I've selected a few scenes: now I just have to paint them.

You're one step ahead of me on San Francisco -- hope the locations you've picked lend themselves as perfectly to your painting style as the Corsican settings you chose... These paintings are really lovely.

You did a beautiful job on these Corsica paintings, Laura. Somehow you've captured the mood of the place for me. That lightness and airiness...sigh...

beautiful, Laura! I always hesitate to do any of those challenges "formally," for fear of not getting them done in time and feeling pressured, which I don't want of art. But I love the exercises themselves. Yours are gorgeous!

I have the same trouble. I spend more time "traveling" than painting. I did finally put mine on one of the last days. I already have many miles traveled in San Francisco.

Your Corsica paintings are just lovely - what a light, deft touch! I cruised around the map for hours, loving the place, but not making a decision in time :( - am also looking around San Francisco now, this time must pick and paint before another month has flown!
