This is a painting I did in the still life group I belonged to; we broke up two years ago this week when our teacher and mentor, Carolyn Howard, died.
All of the objects pictured here, except the electrical-thingy on the far left, were Carolyn's. I love the fluted vase, second from right, and the curly-topped one.

but a goodie....I love the colored glass.
The different shades of blue and green glass are just gorgeous. Nice job on the shadows to.
very pretty, i really like the colour of the glass.
sounds like it was a nice group.
Such a pretty, light-filled piece - a memento of happy times I think.
Love those cool shades Laura.
Glass is really hard I think, with all the reflections as well as maintaining the transparency.
Thanks for the view.
Oh my, how lovely. It must be the time of year. I was thinking about people I miss today too.
It's always a pleasure to visit you blog and see you newest work.
These are beautiful Laura! I thought it was a photo at first. I'm sure it will bring nice memories for you. lovely job!
Beautiful job on these, Laura. They sparkle and glow.
Re: Carolyn... I just lost a neighbor and friend last week (an older man... he was 81)and I can't help but look at his closed-up lonely little house and realize how his many little kindnesses (he was always ready to share his home-grown produce and a joke) became a nice part of my life. He will be greatly missed - but I'm so glad I got a chance to get to know him.
How beautiful, and since Carol is gone now, how wonderful that you have this to remember her by as well.
