plans

Trying to simplify my photos and make a color plan prior to painting.
Thinking blue/orange complements for this one.
Funnily now that I've done even this little bit of prepatory work, I'm afraid to begin! Which maybe explains why I rarely do any prepatory work.

For the scene below, ill try an analogous colir scheme.

Guess you already know the book from Gurney Journey

Color and Light: A Guide for the Realist Painter

His item about a limited palette is so great, and I'll guess this would be of some help in this little queeste you're on

Sometimes I find doing the plans and ignoring them anyway is the way to go ;o) somehow when you ignore them from in front of you they come out from your subconscious. I love the composition of the top one with the big shapes of fence and path. Such a great tonal pattern too. Happy painting.

Thank you, Lisa, that's a great observation! Following a plan is a little daunting, puts touch portable on the outcome for my comfort!
