riverview

(6x8)
End-of-day sketch of the view from my friends' hammock ... I had brought my paints and was determined to force myself to do something.
There are many lovely views of the river and the sky through the trees, all changing by the hour: a ready, always appealing subject.

Laura, it's beautiful! You captured the peaceful tranquility of the scene perfectly with your colors, and the placement of the tree in just the right spot... it's truly a wonderful painting. I admire how you can paint right there on location. Wish I could do that, but it's much harder than it seems. You do it so well.

Beautiful! I am not a plein aire painter. I do envy your ability to paint on location!

This is very lovely. Wish, though, that there was a photo of you painting watercolors in a hammock: I'm having such a hard time imagining holding onto anything or everything! So this painting seems even MORE remarkable!

Laura, your watercolors just want to make me hang up my brushes... I wish I could do this!!

A beautiful scene captured - just enough to make it look like it was done in a few minutes - an easily done! Hard to do, I know!
