Im a long time reader of your blog, and just wanted to tell you that your art inspired me to try watercolours as well, and also thank you for introducing me to Paint My Photo :D As always, lovely painting!
Oh, I'm excited you tried Paint My Photo! I keep looking and have been unable to decide which to try. I always like your watercolor palette, so clear and bright and direct. Lord knows I need some color these monochromatic winter days.
Delicious colors, Laura! Here's a tip from Carol Carter workshop: Prewet everything except what you are going to keep white, then let the color flow into the subject/shape and it will avoid the dry areas completely (as long as you don't use a bathtub of water in your water/pigment mix). Try it and see what you think :)
I love the peppers. The only thing I would do to make it pop a little more is make the background behind the lemon darker. It gets hammered into me each week in class that we need to have light against dark or dark against light. Jean

Hi Laura! Very good job:) I like the light on the lemmon, the shadows and all the colors. Nice painting!

Lovely painting! The light is more or less coming from behind so not much white is showing.
