Painted these this morning with an Eric Weigardt paint-along video. I've done a couple of online classes with Eric and usually come away pretty frustrated despite the fact that he's a good teacher.
He uses a lot of water and a lot of color and he paints big, usually a full sheet. His paintings are "loose" and colorful.
I think I finally accepted that for me to get similar results, or to get the things I like about his painting into my painting, I'm going to have to try more than once!
So I do wish I had left more white and lights in the sky and in the water, but the wet paint got away from me.
It's okay though I'll do it again and try to get the result I want.

They are gorgeous! The first one, bold and juicy; the second, more toned down but still such color! I think you’re doing it - do you not want to go bigger or are you just trying to get the same results in smaller sizes? Beautiful work!
Thank you, Rhonda. I do want to try going bigger!
I saw that he has two videos with the clouds. Which one did you watch? They are both gorgeous!
Well. I bought the one with the big brilliant yellow clouds. And though I believe it's the same reference photo, the painting in his video is more like my top one here--reddish purple predominantly.
I wrote to ask if there was another video where he paints the yellow clouds but haven't received an answer (yet?)
