double crested cormorants

When I visit my brother in St Pete FL we love to kayak at Fort de Soto. Often we're  followed by cormorants who dive under us to catch fish, sometimes so many it's hard to paddle.
Haven't quite got it yet, but these are painted from photos I took while kayaking.

Wow! that is gorgeous. So much life in that eye - I think you have totally GOT IT!!!

Thank you, lisa. Funny, if the eye turns out good, it can carry the whole painting; mess it up though ...

Sounds like a wonderful trip with brother and the cormorants. I was puzzled about the beak/bill and the marks on there - didn’t know they had those! Maybe I am thinking on anhingas??

Thank you Candy, Barbara and Rhonda!
Rhonda, I really didn't do so good a job on the beak markings--got carried away! I often confuse anhingas and cormorants too--they are so similar, even similar sizes!
