I've been busy painting rooms and "spring cleaning," which has resulted in a big mess everywhere that's not conducive to painting.
I completely missed out on the chance to paint my magnolia tree this year: the blooms came and went.
The last of my daffodils are starting to wilt so yesterday I tried ... I may get another day or two out of them. Then, I hope, I'll have some irises.

i like the orange in the centers.
Very fresh and loose - really says "spring". A friend picked some daffodils for me and I put them in a blue vase, took them outside and got some adequate photos to paint from eventually! Good luck on the spring cleaning (maybe next year for me!!!)
Really love your light, washed style with exposed backgrounds. Conveys spring well.
Delicious flowers. Spring cleaning? What's that? I wish I could get the same satisfaction from a very clean and tidy house as I do with a completed, good painting.
Hi Laura, Tis the season... to paint spring flowers, intoxicating.
That slightly blue tinged daff in the background is phenomenal; perfect choice of colors for the shadowed flower. I wondered where you've been. I always find cleaning well makes a bigger mess, at least at the outset. But how good it will feel when you finish, yes?
complimenti molto bello e delicato, buon week end , luisa
Nice job, Laura, and my painting came today!! I love it--it's so pretty. I'm going to so enjoy it--thank you again so much!
Ah isn't Spring wonderful! Absolutely beautiful, soft, gentle daffies! My garden is showing it's Autumn face so it's so nice to see the Spring flowers from the northern hemisphere.
Hi Laura,
How beautiful, and a kind reminder to pay attention to what's happening outside. We pray all winter for spring, and then April comes, and what with taxes, end of term and painting like fury I've notices the beautiful blooming trees and daffodils in a blue as I rush from place to place.
These lovely paintings are making me slow down and see.
Take care,
Barbara
These are beautiful. You are so good at painting flowers.I really must try harder at this subject. I tend to shy away from subjects I find difficult.
