Watching the last two nights of the Democratic Convention brought this poem to mind:
The time will come
when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror
and each will smile at the other's welcome
and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was yourself ...

I enjoyed the convention as well. Yes we can, indeed! Thanks for the poem. The colors in your picture are beautiful.I have been thinking about your earlier posts and your watercolor issues. The post about gestures really stuck with me.
...don't know a lot about USA politics, but I like that man, and the poem is beautiful.
Yes, those lines are wonderful, and so is your painting. Lovely colors as always, very joyful.
I got back just in time for his speech and, though we were afflicted with jetlag, we couldn't miss the speech. What a glorious achievement. And I am crazy about your painting. I think it would be so fun to paint with you and Cathy G.
It's better not to know, Cathy! ;-) At least until we get a new prez!
It is a beautiful poem, and it expresses just how I felt: re-found.
Thanks Mineke. I was feeling joyful ...
I'm glad there's a discernible connection between my heart and my brush!
Glad you got to see it Laura; I was impressed and touched. The faces on the people in the audience said it all.
It be great to paint with you! There are several virtual-painter-friends it'd be fun to have as real-painter-friends!
Maybe someday it'll happen.
