As usual, I love these just the way they are. Unfinished!
ReplyDeleteI can't see the top painting for some reason, but love the cyclamens - I agree with Suzanne, you could leave them right there...
ReplyDeleteyahoo, the colors are so transparent and strong, that is difficult to achieve, usually mine become overworked and opaque. Anywhoo Charles Reidish in your ability to get such good strong transparent color. Do you have a specific technique? I was watching a Charles Reid video and he shakes all of the water off his brush before dipping it in the paint.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color in this painting is the touch of burnt umber looking, brown, on the flower.oh and the backround too
Whatever 'wips' are you've made them look beautiful and your free hand lilies are stunning. Love your work.
ReplyDeleteCyclamen are a challenge, but these are splashy and vibrant. I have a very detailed, partially finished graphite drawing of a cyclamen. I spent so much time on it before I lost interest, I've never been able to throw it away...
ReplyDeleteYour cyclamen are so graceful looking-- very lovely so far!
ReplyDeletethanks for the link back to my blog, laura! your watercolor pieces are so wonderful. i've only played at watercolor a tiny bit and would love to do more of it some day. you've inspired me!!
