freehand lilies

(7x11)

I shouldn't take a break from work today--too much to do!--but I bought these lilies a few days ago at the supermarket: I cannot resist orange lilies, I hope I never can.
I painted this freehand, without drawing, and trying to keep the yellow-orange-red paints moving without worrying about overlapping shapes being "unreadable."

  3. Oh, wow--they are just stunning, Laura. And you just laid the paint right down? Fabulous results. I love these colors--I'm a big fan of the orange lilies, but I think I like your painting of them even more.

These are beautiful Laura. Sometimes just plunging in brings the best results.

  11. The fluidity and light in the lilies and in the still-life is wonderful - watercolour at its best, I think!
