november virtual sketch date

(7x12)

In like the cool branches in the upper right, but always struggle with dappled shadows! I think I may crop it:

In-progress photos: I have to remember to photograph paintings in-progress more often; looking at these makes at least part of me wish I had stopped after the first go-round.

  7. I like the rich, bold blue in your sky and how you carried it down into your background. And I think your purple dappled shadows are very well done.

  11. All the colors are wonderful - a nice interpretation! I do like the first photo though - simple trees and blue background. It would be so great if we had an "undo" button, wouldn't it? But that is what makes it art, I think - taking the chance that can't be undone.

  17. Love the colors Laura! I don't think you should crop it. The color shift in the right corner balances the piece.

  20. It was most interesting to see the masking in the work in progress photos. I like to see all the 'tricks' and techniques used to arrive at a result.
And a gorgeous result. Fabulous color!
