Last week's challenge on Karin Jurick's
Different Strokes blog was to draw and/or paint the reference photo upside down. All the geometric shapes in this image lent themselves to this problem ... the person was a bit stickier!
I'm a day late with this and so can't post it to Karin's fabulous blog, but we have two weeks to complete the next challenge, so maybe between pie baking and appetizer making (my contributions to Thanksgiving dinner), I'll manage to finish.
The slump is over.
ReplyDeleteHi Cathy. Your comment made me laugh out loud this morning: I love its brevity!
ReplyDeleteA good way to start the day!
Brave soul that you are.... I'm still trying to get the hang of painting right way up! Great job on this painting.
ReplyDeleteUpside down!? Do painters really do that? I don't think I can even write a sentence legibly upside down. I love your painting! You really captured the scene and the walker, she looks kinda sad, or maybe she is caught up in thoughts of pies and appetizers...
ReplyDeleteI like this one too. Reminds me of an Edward Hopper.
ReplyDeleteIbid on Shicat!!! I was going to write something similar before I read hers.
