sumi

Started a sumi class today online with the Seattle Art League.
Today we were doing practice, getting used to the brushes and paper by painting tree shapes.
These are small, about 4x6.

    How gorgeous! Such beautiful loose strokes - I love this technique on you. I think your daffodils have started something.

    Thank you, Lisa. You may be right! I really have no control over these sumi studies right now--the water and ink spread where they want. Or don't! But I think that may be the appeal.
