old paintings

Also found these, from my first watercolor class, which I took at Cooper Union in NYC, my father's alma mater.
The instructor focused on glazes. These have a flatness and lack of strong value contrast that appeals to me.
I wish I could remember her name, she was a good teacher and really got me interested in watercolor.

  1. These are all interesting - particularly the shapes in each one - but they don’t look like you paint (that is a compliment because your style is so nice, a mix of loose and tight and great color palettes, etc.). We all learn a little something from every teacher, don’t we? I’d say stick with your style!

  2. That's true, Rhonda. I don't usually glaze ... I've had a lot of teachers and sometimes what they said pops into my head when I most.
