Painted this view of Loch Lomond following along with a video on Lois and Morgaine Davidson Art's YouTube channel.
I just discovered the channel recently, and there are a lot of good videos there.
Unfortunately I painted this on not so great paper and got runbacks when the paper couldn't take more paint or water.
Next time I'll use better paper.
Still got the mood tho, ...
ReplyDeleteI'm full off 600 grms paper the heavier the paper is the quicker you can work.
Awesome sketch.
Thank you, Rene.
ReplyDeleteI have mostly 140 lb/300gm paper.
The poor quality stuff I have is also 140 lb but not 100% rag and/or not acid free. Often has an off-putting, to me, textire-- too uniform.
Decided to take all this second rate paper and donate it somewhere.
I have to try the 300lb/600 gm paper!
Donating it somewhere, ... that's mean hahahaha
ReplyDeleteTo punnish your colleque's you mean ;-)
What I do is buying large sheets and cut them by folding them to slightly larger then needed and cut them with a breadknife, ... this will give them a rough edge which looks a bit like an handmade paper.
When taping it onto a size which fits into a standard frame (with a little freespace) it saves a lot of money making a frame onto size, ...
good luck !
Lol. Yes, it sounds like a gift no one wants! But it's okay for kids to use as drawing paper ...🙂
