pine cone
Jo MacKenzie sent me the reference photo for this, which I painted after watching her pine cone painting videos on YouTube. Jo's emphasis on planning your values really helped.
Just gorgeous. We have two candlesticks on our kitchen table where we eat most meals. They are on antique china plates, and each plate also holds two pine cones -- a very large one, and a teeny one. I'm sure anyone coming into our kitchen stares at that arrangement and wonders. But we picked them up walking in a beautiful alleyway between two streets. They seemed like miraculous emblems of hope in the middle of a city neighbourhood. Your painting has the same effect.
So loose & beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, you've got these down to a science. Beautiful.!
