value studies

A page of small value studies. I find these, more than anything else, help me simplify a complicated or detailed subject.
Also just fun to do when I have no other ideas!

  1. Love your value study. Isn't it funny how sometimes we just have to put paint and water to paper no matter what it is.

Pine cones below is another one I have trouble with and have tried several times.. I think yours is wonderful.

    1. These can be relaxing to do, no pressure, while getting practice with brush handling and controlling/ varying wetness!
      Thank you, Barbra Joan.

  3. These are great. It's great to see how much can be said without color. You are inspiring me to do this more. Thank you!

  4. Thank you, Karyn. I don't do value studies enough, and, you're right, there's something appealing about them in and of themselves!
