chalfonte side porch

A small sketch, about 8x10, so not very detailed. But I think I might scale it up ... after practicing overhanging branches and dappled shadows.

  2. Laura, this is so 'you'. I'd know your painting anywhere. Your very consistent if that's the word. I think what I'm trying to say is 'your style' shows through and that's something most artists strive for.

    1. thank you, Barbra Joan, what a nice thing to say! when I first started painting I worried about finding my own style/ voice ... ironically, now I never think of it all, but may have found it! it's an aesop's fable!

  3. Those shadow shapes are looking good and this is tough one to tackle - well, for me as I shy away from buildings. Good work. Are you still taking the online course or is it over?

    1. Still taking it, Rhonda, it's a go at your own pace class.
Just finished one and hope to start another; I signed up for 2 of her classes: white flowers and flowers 2, which covers the magnolia and rhododendrons.
of course, since I'm copying Birgit's work I can't "do" anything with the finished paintings, but I am enjoying it and learning.
