Back on track, trying to paint something 5 days a week.
This is this morning's effort.
Not too happy with it, but that's usually the case when I try to paint palm trees ... just never happy with the shape of the fronds, or the color, really: the lower fronds in these were dry, brown and light tan.
I should do a palm tree sampler; get them right before I try to make a painting of them.

Laura, since I've lived in Florida over 50 years, I'm an expert on palm trees. LOL ! There is not a thing wrong with those palms. Sure, you could put a few dry crunchy brown fronds but why?
ReplyDeleteBe Happy ! I know we are always reaching for more, and I do that also. I don't know of any one painting that I've ever been totally satisfied with. I think it's a disease I have. LOL !
I hope your not going to feel any effects of hurricane Florence.
Thank you, Barbra Joan. I hope Florence will pass you by too!
ReplyDeleteI think I could probably improve these palms by going back and adding a few darks ... but once I've decided I'm not happy with a painting, I find it's better to just move on!
