Didn't finish this little sketch--struggled too long with it as it is--because the paper was not cooperating.
I have this problem with paper sometimes--too old? too much humidity? It becomes absorbent, flattening the color and making mixing on the paper and hard edges impossible.

Life is too short to paint on bad paper. Time to buy some new stuff to try out (or a nice 140# block you can carry with you). Hope you are looking forward to autumn.
ReplyDeleteI have so much paper...blocks, sheets...!
DeleteHave to paint more.
I shoulda tossed this sheet after the first brushstroke.
Hoping to prolong summer a bot, but fall's nice too!
What knocks me out is that this is an amazing painting. I'm sorry the
ReplyDeletepaper was disappointing, but wow -- what you've done is wonderful.
XOXOXOXOXO Barbara
