Plein air

A day (half a day, actually) of plein air painting in Cape May, NJ. Cloudy and breezy conditions favored smaller paintings; these were done on a 12x18 block. Trying to get the curve of the shoreline to lie flat, primarily. Decided to avoid the issue entirely in my third sketch.

  1. I have always loved your plants and shadows in the dunes, Laura. You did some, many years ago, using (I think) Akashiya Sai watercolor brushes? I have been unable to find them in your archives, though.

    1. I think I remember those, Annie. I was never good at using tags, so my blog is hard to search. But I'll look for them and repost. Thank you.

    1. Thank you. The breeze was nice 8n a way, but my palette's full of sand now.
