This week's bird for Facebook's Paint Colorful Birds for Fun is the Southeast Asian silver-eared mesia. In the first one, composed this little group from different reference photos. I'm trying to add some surroundings too.
These were both painted on cold press paper; I think I'd like to try them on hot press.
Well done! I have some parakeet pictures I'm getting ready to try.
ReplyDeleteAs others have said: Mooi!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Great color on these little ones and I like the second grouping a lot - so cute! You are really pushing yourself with this Facebook group!
ReplyDeleteI love the drawings as much as the paintings!
ReplyDeleteHi Laura, the birds are beautiful. I like your pencil sketches too.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful, I love them on the plain white backgrounds as the shapes are so well defined
ReplyDeleteLaura,
ReplyDeleteI was going through some old blog comments and ran across a comment you had left. Now I sit here today and wonder why I didn't come over to check out your blog until now. What wonderful work. I always find it exciting when I find someone who knows how to handle watercolor the way it should be. Being a great craftsman like you certainly adds to the wow factor. So glad I finally came over to see your wonderful blog.
Oh my I do love your birds!
