As much as painting the birds, I'm enjoying trying to find a way to convey a background without doing too much or using a lot of detail.
I think this background could probably use a few more darks, but I'll leave it for now.
Ah, there he is! And a handsome fellow. I really like how pale you do your backgrounds - you put information there but not much and it doesn't detract from the bird (something I need to learn as I often spend too much time on the bg for no apparent reason!!)
