30 days

30 days ... 30 paintings. 26 more than last time I attempted it. Some are good, some not so much.
I started out thinking that painting everyday for 30 days would inevitably lead to some breakthrough, a big improvement in my painting. I don't think that happened, but maybe it's less important than what did happen: 1) I painted every day, 2) I began to see subjects and have ideas for future paintings, 3) I feel re-engaged with painting after a long lapse.
And 4) I reconnected with my blog and with other bloggers. Thank you everyone for your encouragement and support.
Back tomorrow with a new painting!

  6. Congratulations on your 30 days! So many lovely paintings, too. I think you maybe played a bit with not drawing your birds first, and that's a change. I wouldn't have been able to do this. I am painting my birds, often 2 or 3 a day, but not worrying about a 30 day challenge so I'm giving myself a little leeway.

  9. Your paintings are so wonderful to begin with, that improvement would be a challenge! Still the process of painting everyday; the brush in hand the paint in front of you, one can only get better, more familiar and in the groove:)

  10. A beautyful collection to show :) I also had a look at your birds and that lovely lemon painting. I try not to miss anything, but you are too fast for me, so have to catch up now and then :D Take care and keep on painting!

  11. 4 positive things came out of this - kudos to you! And you may have made improvements you have yet to see, since you were so focused on getting a painting a day complete. Now you can take your time on some of the ideas you now have from these paintings. Good job!
