My Day 1 and Day 2 paintings for Leslie Saeta's 30 Painings in 30 Days challenge.
She has some good advice on how to prepare yourself to stick with it: e.g., tidy up your studio, think of maybe sticking to one subject, plan what you're going to do for the next couple of days ...
My theme is birds, but I'm behind on my planning ahead.
These could use more darks, details ... and maybe I'll go back to them later, but now I have to get to Day 3.
Hi, Laura I love them just like they are. The top one is my favorite. love your bird sketches and the eyes. They are wonderful..it's hard to do 30 days but you will. Looking forward to seeing your work each day. love,Diana
ReplyDeleteYou're off to a great start!
ReplyDeleteLove them. You are soooo good.
ReplyDelete30 in 30 eh? I am working on one bigger one.
Good for you!
XOXO Barbara
I so admire you folks doing 30 paintings. And thinking of what to paint will be difficult. Good luck. So far so good
ReplyDeleteThe bird theme will be beautiful. I love your first two!
ReplyDeleteThey look great, and that's a good idea to stick with a theme. I'm wondering what conclusions you'll come after 30 days, about your approach to art making and your art in general. Already you are saying that this or that needs more shadow, but will be added later... after daily repetition with the process of creating a painting from start to finish... it will be fun and intriguing to see what you gained from the experience.
ReplyDeleteOh, we are in for a real treat - 30 paintings from you in 30 days!!! You're off to a good start and I think birds are a perfect subject.
ReplyDeleteTwo lovely bird paintings, a great idea having a theme for such a full on challenge
