For these two I decided to tackle the background first ... since it always seems to be a problem later.
The bluetit is adorable, but not native to the U.S. and I've never seen one; both are from photos at Paint My Photo.
It solves a lot of problems to tackle the background first and make the star part of that first effort - these look great and I'm enjoying your bird series :)
Great idea to paint the background first, I'll have to remember that.
