Next weekend I'll be in Washington DC with my friends Shelby and Lori to take a two-day "gestural florals" workshop with Jackie Saunders at the Torpedo Factory.
Today I put together this palette with the colors she recommends and a couple I can't do without, cobalt violet and ultramarine violet. I always make a little diagram of the colors to tape to the lid:
And I'm out of Antwerp blue, which Jackie recommended, so I tried out these dark blues looking for a substitute and decided on the W&N indanthene blue (on the far left).
ahhh all that clean color...looks great...have fun at the workshop!
ReplyDeleteClean color indeed! My palettes always end up a mess. I use them until I can't stand it anymore and wash it all out to start over again. Have a blast at the workshop, Laura. I know you will!
ReplyDeleteWow. Nice. But no greens at all and some other colors that I don't think I would be able to find. looks like a challenge (which I know you enjoy).
ReplyDeleteThere are 2 greens: hooker's and Daniel Smith's apatite genuine, which is a lot like sap (which I'm out of!)
ReplyDeleteAnything you can't find, I'll find for you!
Shows what an eye for color I have. I'm seeing them now right where they should be. You know that Blue and Yellow Don't Make Green for me . . .
