The over-the-top birthday cake Peter brought to my parents'; my mother got out the picture taken at the Flower Fifth Avenue hospital when I was new-born.
Making a wish. I've had good luck with my wishes this year: in fourteen days I'll be in the Virgin Islands!
YUM! I'll trade you some of my spumoni ice cream if you'll give me a slice of that cake :)
ReplyDeleteHappy happy to you! Such an incredible cake. Have fun in the islands.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Laura, and have a wonderful vacation.

Happy birthday Laura. I love fifty.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great cake... and so exciting to be almost on your way!
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog, Laura. I very much enjoy it (from one fellow 50 year old to another). Love the birthday cake but the self-portrait in progress is stunning!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Laura. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteLove the before-and-after photos --these past 50 years have been good to you. And I don't think you have to finish the portrait (but you definitely need to finish the cake!) because it looks fantastic as is.
ReplyDeleteYou are so on a roll, Laura! Wonderful portrait! And the cake is fabulous. Happy, Happy 50th! I'm excited for you that you're heading to the islands soon. Have a wonderful trip! I can actually recognize you in that baby photo--adorable even then.
ReplyDeleteHappy (belated) birthday Laura! Glad you are painting again, I've been enjoying all your recent posts. That's a pretty amazing cake. And your planned trip to sunshine and warmth sounds wonderful, too. Have a great time!
ReplyDeleteGreat cake and great portrait. Good for you. Enjoy the Virgin Islands.
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Barbara
