The current
Different Strokes challenge; I think I made it just in time. But this was so much fun. I'm doing another, with the chopsticks (which you can hardly discern here, on the left) in a better position.
When I was painting the lettering on the chopstick wrapper, I was wishing I had
Hopper's Chop Suey in front of me--it would've been fun to do a take on that painting for this challenge!
Love the colors.... can't say the same for eating that kind of food though... ICK! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Laura,
ReplyDeleteI also had fun doing the DSFDF challenge. It is quite a wonderful project that Karin Jurick has set up. I am going to try the next one...I think.
I'm finally feeling better—sleep is coming more naturally as my body has adjusted to the time change. Now it is time to work on my paintings for the art exchange.
Laura,
ReplyDeletea great job on the challenge.
Super colour.

What wonderful ntense colors! this is really nice.
ReplyDeleteHi Laura,
ReplyDeleteI like this subject matter and the color of the soy sauce? I have always been a bit shy to enter into DSFDF. The entry instructions seem stict and I'm not certain I can comply, with the photo expectations and all.
I like your water color rendition of the DSFDF challenge. Your colors are great, the soy sauce looks so real. You have nice work on your blog, I love your flower paintings!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun painting! Love Hopper's Chop Suey too. I really like your self portrait on your blog... do you paint people very often? Great blog!
ReplyDeleteIt's so interesting to see what different artists do with the challenge. Each has his/her own style, which makes it fun. I am trying to get up the courage to try one of the challenges. Nice job.
