This looks like quite a different painting - I like that long format, and there's more focus on the warm - or hot! - colours of the flower, and the negative shapes. Hope you keep those blue/green off-cuts for something else, though - a collage?
Oh Man! I've just spent an hour or more wandering through all your lovely postings. I'd just popped over quickly from flatsoundofwoodenclogs little knowing what wonderful treats lay in store. I've bookmarked you and look forward to many enjoyable visits.
Thanks, Cathy. The long format reminds me of stained glass, for some reason! I've never done any collaging--perhaps I should start a pile.
Wow, thanks Sue! I just returned from your blog--I really love the paintings in your accordian sketchbook; Vancouver must be a beautiful place to hike!
Have added your link to my blog - hope that's OK! I like your work very much, and will take some time to go back over your blog - it's always interesting to see what people can do!
Hi Bill--it was just a fortuitous thought; I was removing the tape around the edges, and just thought to move it in closer ... I've usually resisted "techniques" (and just blundered my way through), but I like this method and the fractured, or refracted, view it gives.
Thanks for adding a link to my blog on yours, Deb. I agree about seeing other people's work--I feel lucky to be painting in the era of the blog!

Its so amazing how the shape change changed this piece. I hope you continue this technique, it shows a lot of promise.
