"Painting is an island whose shores I have skirted." --Chardin

After posting this morning, I decided to go back and add another lily to this painting. Still more to be done; not much, just finishing up some of the leaves ...
I can't wait to see this finished, because it is already looking so wonderful! The buds are especially luscious, I love the way you infuse reds, blues, and yellows into the green.
It's wonderful how you convey the process of creating. Beautiful image. Now those PJM's - are those beautiful green backgrounds a camera accident or are they washes? Best on your renovation.
Thanks, Suzanne and Mineke--I'm putting my spring fever to good use! The greenish tint in the background was not my doing; in fact, I hadn't noticed until you pointed out: too focused on the part not the whole! And thanks, the renovation is still continuing; now turning the garage into another room; the project keeps morphing ...
I really love all of the flowers you've been posting lately.
