pelicans

11x15

This is my second go at this, from a reference I found on Paint My Photo.
It's an improvement over the last in some ways, but I'm still not quite there yet ...
Again, I had a problem with the paper! In the lower quarter of the sheet; there was some defect there. But in this case it was for once a help, adding to impression of a worn wooden boat.

Always a silver lining lol, the fault worked to your advantage, it's lovely!

Oh these guys are great... And the boat... YAAAY !
And get out those old paintings, put them on Etsy. Your work is very saleable. Is that the word?
I am getting buried in watercolor paintings, and I have a one room studio apartment...

Thank you, Barbra Joan. I have to go through my flat files!

I like the boat texture and color a lot but what really gets me are those floppy webbed feet hanging over the edge - yay! I think you nailed it with this one, and made the bad paper work for you (could the bad paper be how you store it? or where you store it? I never get a paper that doesn't work well anymore although Arches used to be iffy years ago with bad spots and some musty smelling paper in batches).

Thank you, Rhonda.
I store my paper in a flat file, in the plastic or paper it comes in but 1) some of it may be getting old(?) and 2), and I think this is probably the real culprit, I don't have air conditioning and it can get humid here!

Love this, and all the bird personality in it. Wonderful.
