ceramic things

(11x15)
A small selection from the insane amount of objects I've accumulated to use in projected still lifes.
I painted the two on the left first, and did the one on the far right the next day, today. I had to go back and drop a little yellow into the other two ... And I should soften the shadow edges.
I was trying to let the running of the colors suggest the soft shininess of the ceramic glaze.

You did a beautiful job on the ceramic, I love the shadows too! The perfume bottles are gorgeous! I love the way you are grouping like items together.

You are a master at using color effectively, Laura. Truly, your beautiful shadows and the highlights in your subjects are so perfectly placed. I find myself studying your work and trying to figure out how and why you used a particular color here or there. You could give a seminar about that, I'd be the first to sign up!

You got the mass of these - the weight - plus the shiny ceramic look! You are painting some everyday things that really are beautiful!
