off to Rehoboth

(6x11)
Loosening myself up with some of the multitude of irises I have this year: best year ever. For next spring I'll have to plant some white and yellow ones too.
Tomorrow I go to Rehoboth for the first of two plein air competitions I'm participating in the summer. I'm so busy worrying about the weather, which has been gray, windy, and rainy, that I can't stress about my painting!
The event's supposed to go off, rain or shine, though I'm not quite sure how that's supposed to work.I may come home having learned a lot about gray.

Good luck, Laura, and remember, there can be a LOT of color in greys :)

These are beautiful and so are the gulls. I love your work. Don't worry about the weather. Perhaps they'll have tents. Besides from what I can tell grey is never really grey -- it's all the colours of the land or sea below it.

Best luck on your competition. I'm certain you will thrive in whatever weather. The blue iris are the best of all.

I am 10 minutes from Rehoboth, in Bethany Beach - and it is supposed to be a warm sunny weekend.

Good luck to you

Your Irises are just beautiful. I lived in Rehoboth for a couple of years…have fun and don’t stress about the weather…can’t wait to hear your report. Say hi to the boardwalk and Bethany Beach from me. I may have asked you this before, but where in Maryland/Virginia do you live? For quite some time I had family who lived in New Market, Md.

These iris are beautiful. Last year, a bad hail storm tore down everyone of mine; this year I have no flowers at all. I'm hoping for them next year. Good luck in Rehoboth; I'm sure you will do well.

Oh, Laura, you so captured the "iris-ness" of these! Hahaaaa! Beautiful. Have a wonderful time at the workshops. I'll look forward to what you come up with. Even if it rains, you'll find a spot and do some lovely work. I feel confident of that.
