spring selection

(10x15)

I grabbed these fake flowers at random, recovering them from a box in the shed while in search of my hammock. I jammed them in a little jar and put them aside (I had found the hammock); the next day this accidental arrangement appealed to me.

Lovin' these spring flower paintings!! We had snow all last week...but yesterday it was finally a beautiful day! No flowers yet...but it can't be long now.
I just love the freshness and spontaneous look of this one...and yesterdays...joyous!

I am drawn to the "glass-ness" of the vase. It looks like liquid! Refreshing.

What a wonderful "found" composition! The glass is terrific, and your fake flowers look real to me :)

Thanks, Tracy--glad to give you a preview. By the time my lilacs are gone, they'll be just arriving there: I like to think it's lilac time somewhere!

Thanks Don--I like that: "glassness"! I used to be afraid to try glass until someone told me, Just paint what you see, which turns out to be great advice.

Thanks, Mineke, it's nice to find rather than construct a subject for once; I'll have to keep my eyes open for more "readymades."

Your style is so loose & beautiful! Love the flow of colors in that vase!
