another still life class

My final teacher at CU, with whom I took several classes, including a couple of summers of oil painting in Central Park (I have a handful of dark gloomy oil paintings!), was Pam Ervin. A great teacher who pretty much encouraged us to do whatever we wanted. These still lifes are from one of her classes.

I'm glad I held on to all of these--though it's going to make cleaning out my art closet much less productive! Maybe I can clean out another instead!

Tomorrow, back to new work.

Enough of these teachers - you teach me every time you post something new. No disrespect to your mentors. Still, you are offering valuable insight with your art blogs. You are sharing the struggle we go through every day to work with our medias. Keep up Laura.

Now I see... you were always good...
I realize it takes much perseverance and dedication to paint the way you do...

What is that saying... "the harder I work, the luckier I get"
I had a cat named Cleo when I went college. She was a wild Tonkenese (half Burmese and half Siamese)

Thanks for bringing out your early work. These are really fun to see and your hand is evident throughout.

As it happens, I've thoroughly cleaned my studio recently and came across my packs of early work, some back to high school
